 Overview

Edge Deck (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is an offline-first overlay panel utility developed by GX Devs. This Privacy Policy outlines what permissions are utilized by the application and clarifies that no personal user data is collected or transmitted.

We maintain an absolute standard of user privacy. Your shortcuts, clipboard contents, contact searches, and layouts remain entirely local and offline.

 Offline & Private by Design

Edge Deck does not collect, store, or transmit any personal identifiers or logs. All system utilities run natively on your processor.

 Key App Permissions

The application requests specific Android permissions strictly to perform the features triggered by your swipes or taps. Below is a detailed explanation of each permission requested in our manifest:

System Overlay (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)

Allows Edge Deck to draw the floating trigger handles, side launchers, and camera notch arc panels over other running applications.

Foreground Services (FOREGROUND_SERVICE & SPECIAL_USE)

Required to host the overlay rendering engine inside a persistent service, ensuring Android does not abruptly terminate the side trigger window.

Run at Startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)

Automatically launches the floating side handle whenever you restart your device so you don't have to launch the configuration app manually.

Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)

Required on modern Android versions to display the active state notification for our persistent background service window.

Notification Listener (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE)

Enables the Media Controller tile to read playing song details, tracks, album arts, and playback status from running music apps.

Contacts & Phone Calls (READ_CONTACTS, CALL_PHONE)

Required to dynamically parse contact searches inside the universal search bar and initiate direct call shortcuts from your pinned contact tiles.

Do Not Disturb Access (ACCESS_NOTIFICATION_POLICY)

Required to safely toggle Do Not Disturb/Silent/Vibrate ringer profiles when clicking the DND utility tile.

Audio Volume Settings (CHANGE_AUDIO_SETTINGS, MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS)

Enables adjusting the system media volume slider directly from the slide-out overlay interface.

Write System Settings (WRITE_SETTINGS)

Required to adjust the device screen brightness slider and toggle automatic brightness rules from the overlay.

Haptic Vibration (VIBRATE)

Required to trigger physical haptic feedback clicks when touching and dragging the slider handles.

Camera Hardware (CAMERA)

Required to toggle the device flashlight and capture the camera video stream to index code blocks in the QR Scanner tile.

Internet & Purchases (INTERNET, BILLING)

Required to securely perform premium feature transaction validation and restore purchase state with Google Play Store servers.

 Local Clipboard Encryption

For users subscribed to the Premium tier, clipboard history items saved on disk are encrypted using hardware-backed **AES-256-GCM** encryption.

Keys are generated and stored securely in the device's standard **AndroidKeyStore** system. The developer does not have access to your decryption keys or stored history.

 Children’s Privacy

The Application does not target or knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. Since no server communications are established, children's data is never processed externally.

 Billing & Purchases

Edge Deck Premium status is processed through Google Play Billing API. We do not collect or store your credit card information, bank details, or transactional data. Payment details are handled securely by Google Play Services under their respective privacy policy.
