Overview

Scryb (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is an offline-first screen draw, quick note, and gesture trigger overlay utility developed by GX Devs. This Privacy Policy outlines what permissions are utilized by the application and clarifies that no personal user data is collected, stored on remote servers, or transmitted.

We maintain an absolute standard of user privacy. Your screen drawings, floating canvas notes, trigger shortcuts, and overlay preferences remain entirely local to your Android device.

P	Offline & Private by Design

Scryb does not collect, store, or transmit any personal identifiers, telemetry logs, or canvas contents. All overlay processing runs natively on your device.

› Floating Bubble & Handle Customizations: Sizes, positions, and colors (stored locally only)

› Quick Launcher App Shortcuts: Configured app shortcuts (processed locally on device only)

K	Key App Permissions

The application requests specific Android permissions strictly to perform the utility features triggered by your gestures or touch actions. Below is a detailed breakdown of each permission requested in our manifest:

1	System Overlay (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) Allows Scryb to display floating gesture bubbles, screen drawing canvas, floating widgets, and quick action panels over other running applications.

2	Foreground Services (FOREGROUND_SERVICE & SPECIAL_USE) Required to host the overlay rendering engine and floating gesture trigger bubble inside a persistent foreground service so Android does not abruptly close the service.

3	Run at Startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) Automatically launches the floating gesture bubble service when your device boots up so you do not have to launch the main app manually.

4	Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) Required on Android 13+ to display the active persistent service status notification for fast overlay trigger access.

5	Haptic Vibration (VIBRATE) Required to trigger haptic feedback vibrations during drawing, floating tool interaction, and gesture triggers.

6	Camera & Flashlight (CAMERA, FLASHLIGHT) Required to capture photos or reference images for quick canvas note backgrounds and to toggle the device torch directly from the overlay.

7	Phone Calling (CALL_PHONE) Allows users to trigger direct dial phone calls directly from user-pinned speed dial tiles in the overlay utility panel.

S	Local Storage & Security

All drawings, canvas state, and overlay configurations are stored in private local application storage protected by Android's internal app sandboxing.

No third-party analytics SDKs, trackers, or ad-network profiling scripts are embedded within the application.

Y	Children’s Privacy

The Application does not target or knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. Since no server communications or data transmissions take place, no personal data from any user is ever collected or shared.

B	Billing & Purchases

Scryb Premium upgrades (if applicable) are processed securely through the Google Play Billing API. We do not store or collect your payment card information or bank details. Transactions are handled exclusively by Google Play under their privacy policies.

U	Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect system or permission updates. We recommend reviewing this document periodically to stay informed.
